Under the terms, Wachovia Securities will use Apptix?s hosted collaboration solutions, based on the latest version of Windows SharePoint Services, to help the firm communicate and share documents.

"We selected Apptix?s hosted Windows SharePoint Service because of its expertise in hosted applications, and its strong partnership with Microsoft," said Cindy Buckler, managing director of Wachovia Securities information technology. "The new hosted service will enable us to easily collaborate and share documents among different offices and locations, helping to increase our productivity."

According to the company, outsourcing the Apptix solution will be more cost-effective than an in-house deployment and is able to meet the needs of organizations of varying sizes.
