Under the agreement terms, Digital River recently built and launched a co-branded online store for Toshiba, allowing it to market and resell thousands of software titles from Digital River's extensive downloadable software library.
The new store can be accessed at www.toshibadirect.com, as well as through a desktop icon and in the Start menu of all new Toshiba laptop computers. Toshiba, for the first time, is offering downloadable software in addition to boxed software.
Consumers visiting the company's software download store will find a range of promotions, including cross-sells of complementary software and up-sells to newer or more advanced versions of software, all of which can be purchased using credit card, cheque, money order or wire transfer. The software can be downloaded immediately after purchase.
