Level 1 PCI DSS Certified Service Provider! DataPipe delivers the best network & support; top tier data centers; New York metro, Silicon Valley, London, Hong Kong, Shanghai. DataPipe - Personal Touch, Global Reach.
The DCML organization is a collaborative effort established to develop the industry's first vendor-neutral data center specification. The establishment of a standard would help facilitate the adoption of utility computing models and IT interoperability in data centers, reducing the overall costs and complexity of data center management.
The DCML organization, according to CRN, believes the specification is critical because it focuses on interoperability between different management systems. DCML is an XML-based specification for describing a data center's content and the methods by which that content is managed, regardless of which management tool is being used. The specification released this week covers the basic DCML framework, including the model by which certain data center elements are described, processing rules and the way extension specifications for networks, servers, applications and services should be described and organized.
The DCML organization continues to grow, with 60 companies joining since its inception in October 2003.
