UFO Communications, Inc., a provider of metropolitan optical networks, will supply Hurricane Electric with single mode fiber into its facilities as gigabit Ethernet.
"We are taking additional steps to ensure that all of our customer's data reach their destination all of the time," said Mike Leber, president of Hurricane Electric. "By adding another fiber connection to our facilities, we are adding to the security that our customers have come to rely on when they use our services."
The additional fiber into the San Jose and Fremont facilities ensures supplemental capacity and redundancy, by augmenting Hurricane Electric's network comprised of connections ranging from OC3s (155Mbps) to gigE (1,000Mbps), which connect to several major exchange points, including PAIX (Palo Alto), AADS (Chicago), MAE East (Vienna, VI), NYIIX (New York) and MAE West (San Jose).
