SAS 70 is an international standard used to measure the reliability of a service organization's internal controls and auditing practices developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. According to Rackspace, the audit evaluated its controls related to service delivery and operations, infrastructure maintenance, customer implementation, change management, backup of programs and data files and logical and physical data center access.
Rackspace said SAS 70 certification enables it to further its expansion in the enterprise market by delivering certification of the controls needed for compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley financial and accounting disclosure standards.
