May 7, 2004 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- According to research and analysis firm Netcraft (netcraft.com), managed Web hosting provider Savvis Communications (savvis.net) grew by more than 800 percent in the month of April as it shifted more than 350,000 domains from hosting assets the company recently acquired from Cable & Wireless USA.
Level 1 PCI DSS Certified Service Provider! DataPipe delivers the best network & support; top tier data centers; New York metro, Silicon Valley, London, Hong Kong, Shanghai. DataPipe - Personal Touch, Global Reach.
Netcraft said that although the 350,000 domains transferred represented one of the largest migrations ever, it did not translate into anywhere near that many accounts. Over 161,000 domains belong to Fabulous.com and 60,000 to Domain Active.
Netcraft's data showed that Savvis' growth rate in April was far and above those recorded by other leading hosts. US hosts EV1Servers grew 4.9 percent and Go Daddy 5.2 percent. Above them, Forest.net recorded a growth rate of 52.58 percent and The Planet came in at 27.3 percent. Canadian-based host Telus grew at 25.9 percent, China Telecom at 32.6 percent and Korea's KT Corporation at 41.78 percent.
